Waiting For Something To Happen

Interesting if you enjoy seeing someone’s brains splattered across the screen-not literally you sicko…Basically this bad-boy has become a source of cheap therapy.

Merry Christmas to me…

So Parliament is prorogued – meaning that now, despite growing economic problems – we now have no one home to deal with it until next year.

But at least little Stevie gets to keep his title for another month.

Jackass.

In other annoyances news, these cats are now freaking out and chasing each other all over creation, and tearing everything around the apartment a new asshole. I do believe the garbage can has been taken down a record 6 times in 24 hours…..I’m leaving it as is for the night.

The highlight at this time being, that as I type this, my paycheque should now be appearing in my bank account – meaning I’m no longer showing a negative balance….the bank I love the most struck again and decided to continue to take money out. I sent a rather strongly worded email to them, as the phone is off, and got a reply and a number to call, and this shit better be sorted out.

Oh I totally called them on being dead wrong. Not that being right saved me, but it’s nice to know I’m better at their job then they are.

Despite all that crap. I did pick up a Saturday shift this weekend, and with my regular Saturday shift later this month, I get 12 hours OT that I can bank on.

Merry Christmas to me, the lights will stay on for another month.

…well then, GTFO.

I’m addicted to the comments on the CBC website. Why? No idea, because it actually infuriates me to read them.

Now obviously I’ve been all over the potential coalition government in the news. (For those not from Canada – we’re the closest to political upheaval we usually get, which is to say not much at all)

The comments, oh the comments. Reading them you’d believe we’ve been taken over by fascists. There bug the shit out of me, but yet, there i go, like three pages in before I ask myself “Why are you doing this to yourself?”

For the record – not that anyone leaving those commets would believe this – having the minority Conservatives toppled, and a coalition of the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc is completely legal and a part of parlimentary procedure.

We vote for members of Parliament, not for prime ministers. Deal with it. Last I checked Harper will still have his seat in Parliament.

Now, what about the Bloc? Yes that part would make some uneasy. The one saving point to this part of the story is the 18 month agreement that was inked. If after 18 months the Bloc come out and eat anglophone babies, then the whole thing will collapse and we’ll go to the polls again.

The point is we get at least 18 months without another election – another $300 million election – that we just had 7 weeks ago.

This country has it’s short-sighted moments, just like to the south. Proprtional representation, coalition governments, these occur all the time, all over the world. Hell, the more politcal parties you end up with, the greater the chances re you’ll need a coalition of some type to have a functioning government.

The final word, despite the recent election results, if Harper was really willing to stand behind changes such as: taking away rights to strike, limits on pay equity for women, and was totally willing to ride out the economic roller coaster we’ve all just hoped on, well then, GTFO.

Finally, to all those opposed, you’re not about to change my mind – a political science degree does NOT make me right, but it does mean I’m pretty sure about what I say. So feel free to waste your time leaving a comment, I like comments, just don’t expect my mind to change.

And to those who don’t care/don’t live in Canada/just wanted to just hear about my cats and maybe see another youtube video? Sorry. It’ll be back to normal soon enough.

Mmmmmmm democracy. Tastes good.

Mmmmmmm democracy. Tastes good.

So we just spent a shitload of money in this country to effectively have nothing change. I knew it coming into it, but damn…..hurts to see it.

I swear, if in two years these assholes decide to try it again – “oh our minority government just won’t work” – I’ll fund and lead an armed uprising to force the parties to work together.

At this point I care less about which doofus is sleeping and crapping at Sussex Drive, and more about wasting everyone’s time.

OK maybe I’m pissed that although I’ve always been an advocate of strategic voting, but I never, ever employed it – until yesterday – and it did nothing.

Actually that’s not true, and in fact the race here in Moncton was close.

But it’s more a complaint not about winning the battle, but losing the war.

IRRITATING.

AND ON TOP OF THAT A RANDOM BLOG SAYS OBAMA WAS ACTUALLY BORN IN KENYA!! AND HE’S NOT A MAVERICK!!! THE WORLD NEEDS MAVERICKS!!!!

He let me down…..damn non-US born, not eligible to be president non-maverick.

It’s been a disappointing Autumn. Nothing but bad news.

Also I want my share of the reportedly 300 million it cost to run that bullshit election back, you can’t repackage and sell me the same thing I bought years ago, that’s not cool.

I’m waiting for my cheque.
